Allevamento Angora Turco ~ Turkish Angora cattery

All our cats - kittens included - are followed by competent vets and live within our house, in strict contact with humans. This allows us to have well socialised, healthy and purring cats… and beautifull

All our kittens live the cattery after 85 days of age, they are immunisated, de-wormed and microchipped ( as from ANFI-FIFE rules). Our white kittens have also a vet certificate that states theri hear capabilities, a BAER test may be requested (and will be at the requesting charge) only for show / breeding qulity white kittens

In order to avoid viral or genetical problems in our kittens our breeders are:
♥ tested negative to FIV - a feline illness very similar to human AIDS;
♥ tested negative to FELV - a feline infective forn if leucemia;
♥ tested negative to HCM - a genetic heart disease;
♥ tested negative to PKD - a genetic kidney desease;
♥ our whites are tested audiometrically to ascertain that they can perfectly hear with both their ears (BAER test - that is up to now the only test that may ascertain such a thing. As deafness may be ereditary, BAER testing white cats is absolutely necessary to reduce at minimum the possibilities of deaf or unilateral earing kittens).

All our adults leave the cattery already neutered, with all routine vacciantion up to date and with all the above test done.

Our kittens live the cattery with a written contract in order to protect them from abandons and bad behaviour (no declawing, no selling to research institutes and so on) and with a year warranty against critical genetic defects. Our pet class kittens comes with a special statement, written also in their pedigrees, that forbids to breed them. All pet quality kittens leave the cattery either neuterd or with an oblligation to neuter them before 10 months of age.

A kitten’s price depends on its conformity to the standard and may vary from 750 euros for a pet quality (a healthy cat but not suitable for show and breeding) up to more than 1000 euros for a breeder/show quality.

We will never allow our cats to leave witout pedigree. The low cost of a pedigree (20 Euro) does not justify a lower price for a cat without pedigree. The price of a cat is due to the care in his and his parents healt, to veterinary check ups, to the best feeding, to the selection work. Without these prerequisites it is impossible to grow up healthy and beautiful cats that will have a long happy life. Fife does not approve the selling of cats without pedigree and neither we do.
